Charity
Lifeblood provides public education to improve the understanding of thrombosis and funds scientific research into the diagnosis, causes, prevention and cure of thrombosis. It also works to further student's, doctor's and nurses knowledge of thrombosis by undertaking workshops and conferences in the UK.

Martin and Maureens Walk
Hi, thanks for visiting our page. On July 12th 2012 we completed our epic walk from John O'Groats to Lands End, 1100 miles and took us 75 days, walking on average 16 miles a day, no rest days. The walk was in memory of Dawn, Maureens daughter who very sadly died on August 7th. Dawn was a brilliant mummy to Lucy 6, Amy 3, and Molly now 11 months old. Dawn is much loved and much missed.
We have been overwhelmed with the many kind donations we have received online and off line since we started our fundraising back in April. Thank you all so much. We have a facebook page which was updated daily if you wanted to follow our progress. If you search for Martin and Maureens walk on facebook, and click like, you will get the updates in your newsfeed daily.
We have chose Lifeblood - the thrombosis charity as Dawn died of a thrombosis, and we didnt realise that over 30,000 people die every year due to thrombosis related illnesses. That is more than road accidents, breast cancer, MRSA and HIV aids put together. Lifeblood do brilliant work raising awareness amongst health professions and others, also funding research..
We very much appreciate your support and every penny raised will go to Lifeblood.
Thankyou
Maureen and Martin
