Hi, and thanks a lot for visiting my fundraising page.

I’m running the London Marathon this year to raise money towards replanting the cherry trees along Chester Rd in Regent’s Park. We’ve selected ’Sunset Boulevard’ as the most suitable variety and 100 of them are being grown for us by Hillier Nurseries so that we’ll have a cohort of clonal trees, like peas in a pod, which will re-establish this fabulous historic vista.  As well as being spectacular in spring flower and autumn colour, these flowering cherries will provide nectar and fruit for our resident wildlife.  The Royal Parks Foundation are fundraising for this project but planting semi-mature trees is hugely expensive and we’re keen to plant this coming winter.

So this is your chance to be part of restoring a beautiful historic vista, how often does that opportunity come around?  Go on, dig deep!  I’ll certainly need to on April 26th.  On the other hand, no contribution is too small, every little helps and all contributions will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks, Nick
