enge2012

Well we did it!!!!!!!!

The Ben threw cloud, wind rain and even hale at us but we still plodded on with the help of our guide Craig and we made it to the top .

It was a 'team' effort and we want to thank all of you who have supported us and for all the donations which will make a difference to the Gateacre Community Group.

Please keep supporting us and help us make a difference to the lives of this community group.

Following on from the success of our 2011 Snowdon adventure, a team of intrepid walkers will this year take on the challenge of The British Isles highest mountain Ben Nevis- raising money for Nugent Care.

The team will be raising money for Nugent Cares Gateacre community group. Our Gateacre Community Group has been supporting adults with learning disabilities for over 30 years. The group is run by volunteers and meets up every fortnight giving local people with learning disabilities the opportunity to socialise, catch up with their friends and try out new activities. The group likes to get out as much as they can whether this be bowling, theatre, pub lunch, etc. but organising transport can be an issue. All money raised will go towards transport costs enabling the group to do and see more and giving members the opportunity to have a visible, active presence in their community.

Nugent Care helps children, adults and community groups throughout the Northwest. In 2011 the charity helped over 6000 local people. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the charity. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
