The Nayamba Trust
We are a small UK charity who ensure 100% of all our donations go directly to support Nayamba School, in Zambia. We also visit the school at least annually to see the difference our financial support is having, to identify future needs and to support practically with teacher training etc. This school provides education to 300 children who had never been able to have an education as other government schools are too far away and too expensive. We help the school by raising money for essential resources, cover the cost of teacher salaries and also contribute to capital building projects. For more information go to www.nayambaschool.org

A team of 10 of us are off to Nayamba School at the end of May for one week:

Leah Barnes, Becky Bettesworth, Charlotte Bowen, Lindsay Edwards, Elspeth Goodwin, Aoife Lambe, Michaela and Jon Petherick, Becky Mason and Sarah Whalley.

Our focus is on early reading, Art and PE as well as Special Educational Needs.  We are raising money to fill our 400kg of luggage allowance with resources to leave at the school.  We want to take out a phonics scheme to support the teaching of phonics, reading books that are phonetically decodable and general school resources to support the pre-school and the 320 pupils in grades 1-9.

100% of monies donated go directly to the school, every single penny you donate will be used to benefit the children of the school - Nayamba: new beginnings.

"I am thrilled to be joining the team and heading out to Nayamba School.  I am excited and nervous but fundamentally keen to see if I can help in a hands on way with this awesome project.  Assisting with basic teaching technics, art and craft projects and active games.  It will be an insight into antoher world and hopefully a chance to help and inluence an amazing community, making a real positive difference," Becky Bettesworth.
