The Kiltwalk
The Kiltwalk is fast becoming Scotland's most loved way of raising money for children's charities. We organise sponsored walking events across Scotland for all abilities and ages with 26 mile, 13 mile and 10km versions. And kilts aren't even obligatory, any bit of tartan will do. Our proceeds support some of Scotland's leading children's charities including Aberlour Children's Charity, Cash for Kids, CHAS, Children 1st, CLIC Sargent and many other children's causes throught Scotland!

Hi, thank you for visiting my page.

After completing 3 kiltwalks to date I have set myself a new challenge this year and signed up to become a Platinum Kiltwalker which means I will be walking all six of the full Scottish Kiltwalks and walking an amazing 155 miles for Scotland's children.

I am taking part in all 6 Kiltwalks this year to show our appreciation to the charities for all their hard work and care given to the children, especially Yorkhill Hospital which is close to our hearts.

As all of our close family and friends know Jay has been poorly since birth and as parents we had a gut instinct that something wasn't right, but it took until the age of 4 before we finally got a diagnosis thanks to the Specialists at Yorkhill Hospital. Jay was diagnosed with Auto Immune Lymphoptoliferative Syndrome ( ALPS ) and is the 1st case the Specialists in Yorkhill have treated. The condition is so rare that Jay's bloods had to be flown to a research Lab in Germany where they confirmed the diagnosis.

3 years on Jay's condition is stable with medication but he is susceptible to infections therefore regularly being admitted to Yorkhill Hospital for further treatment.

We hope the money we raise helps towards the care of all the amazing and brave children we have met during our time there. It was and still is a very difficult time for us and our family but all the lovely staff at Yorkhill still manage to make it as fun as possible for Jay and all the other children and are always so supportive to us as a family.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
