Le voyage de Paddy a Paris en velo

Fundraiser:

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/air-ambulance-cycle

Dear friends,

Hullo!  I'm raising pennies for a second air ambulance for London, for the London Air Ambulance, with a lunatic cyle to Paris.  I'm very grateful for all help and support.

We'll also be having a charity dinner in support of the air ambulance in the autumn, with the clinical director of the London's Air Ambulance coming to speak about his work going up with his stethoscope above the skies of the capital.

All of this is in memory of two friends, who were my predecessors as First Principal of the Royal Somerset House and Inverness Chapter, No. 4 - Clive Thompson and Professor Merton Sandler.  Both were lovely chaps who will be fondly remembered for quite a run of time; Merton was known in medicine and elswhere as a pioneer within his subject of brain biochemistry.  (His obituary in the Guardian is here.)

And so a small group from Chapter No 4 will meet me in Paris, after my cycle, and we will commemorate Merton and Clive with cheer and burgundy.

The £4-million campaign to purchase a second air ambulance for London has been covered by the BBC; half the cost is being met by the masons of London.  (There are stories on both, here and here.)

with all very best wishes and I'm very grateful for every stray penny,

Paddy
