Sue Ryder
Sue Ryder provides incredible care for people with life-changing illness. Whether it’s bringing comfort to someone’s final days or enabling them to make the most of their life, we are here for them and their loved ones. We do this in our hospices, in our neurological care centres, in the community and in people’s homes across the country. Our work also goes beyond the UK, Sue Ryder also supports the delivery of specialised health and social care in areas of Eastern Europe and Southern Africa. Our hospices include: Manorlands Hospice near Keighley, Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds, St Johns in Bedfordshire, Thorpe Hall in Peterborough, Nettlebed in Henley-on-Thames, Duchess of Kent House in Reading and Leckhamton Court Hospice in Cheltenham.
Macmillan Cancer Support
At Macmillan, we know cancer can affect everything. Your body, your relationships, your money, everything. But Macmillan is here to help people live life, no matter what. We give you the support you need to hold on to who you are and what’s important. But right now, we can’t reach everyone who needs us. Almost half of us will get cancer, and we need your help to make sure that people get the support they need to face one of the toughest fights of their lives. Life with cancer is still life -let’s help people live it. We are a charity registered in England and Wales (261017), Scotland (SCO39907) and the Isle of Man (604).
Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. We’ve saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, and survival has doubled over the past 40 years. We fund research into more than 200 types of cancer from the most common, such as breast, bowel, lung and prostate cancers, to rare types of tumours and children’s cancers, we support groundbreaking science that benefits everyone.
Anthony Nolan
Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders. Every day, we match incredible individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people who desperately need lifesaving transplants. It costs £60 to recruit, tissue type and maintain just one potential donor to our register. Your donations will help fund our lifesaving work. Please visit www.anthonynolan.org for more information or email events@anthonynolan.org if you'd like to get more involved.
Pancreatic Cancer UK
Pancreatic Cancer UK is the only national charity fighting pancreatic cancer on all fronts: Support, Information, Campaigning and Research.

Albert goes to Mongolia - Cancer charities

Fundraisers:
Albert Minor, Matt Givertz, Sarah Givertz

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/albertgoestomongolia2

This was a challenge on many levels;

Firstly, driving a 47 year old car (Albert) 20,620 miles in 4 months which involved long driving days and is mentally draining as well as very tiring.  Sarah and Matt shared the driving with deserts and rough roads testing all three of us!

Secondly, to try and keep costs down we are intending to camp as much as possible.  Roughing it is always a challenge but one I'm sure will rise to

Finally and probably the most challenging aspect of this whole adventure is that Sarah and Matt have been divorced for over 25 years and in that time have raised two lovely daughters but haven't spent more than three days together (and certainly not alone!) and now this trip is going to need them to spend 4 months together pretty much 24 hours a day.  Want to know what happened? read our blog at http://mattgivertzdoes60.blogspot.com or have a look at our group on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/groups/albertgoestomongolia

The charities being supported have been broken down into three groups;

Children's charitiesCancer charities and Other charities

Whatever your reason for supporting us, be it impressed with our driving such a distance in an old car while roughing it or simply because you think we are mad, please donate and help us help them help the people who need it

Thanks

Matt, Sarah and Albert
