Histiocytosis UK
Histio UK is dedicated to promoting and funding scientific research into uncovering not only the causes of the histiocytosis diseases, Langerhans' Cell Histiocytosis and Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis, but also ensuring early diagnosis, effective treatment and a cure. The Charity also aims to provide information support to patients and their families as well as raise public and professional awareness about histiocytic disorders. We have an independent scientific review board which allocates funds to vital research projects. Histio UK is closely linked to the Nikolas Symposium, an annual conference attended by leading doctors and scientists from all over the world and also has ties to The Artemis Association, The Histiocyte Society, Euro Histionet and The Histiocytosis Association of America.
Headway - the brain injury association
Headway - the brain injury association is the UK's leading charity working to improve life after brain injury. Headway - the brain injury association provides support and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers, as well as to professionals in the health and legal fields. Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life - walking, talking, thinking and feeling - and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing the life you once lived and the person you once were. Brain injury is the foremost cause of death and disability in young people today. Headway - the brain injury association campaigns nationally for the introduction of measures to reduce instances of brain injury.

I am chooping off my much loved pony tail for charity and I would love any support you can give me.

The charities I have chosen are not that well known to most people unless the conditions they are based on have effected you or some one you love, so I hope as well as donating it also raises awareness to the amazing work they are doing.

Headway offers support and guidence for those effected by any form of brain injury or illness. The money raised will be in honour of my beautiful sister who had a brain tumour, my wonderful aunt who sustained a traumatic brain injury and my lovely uncle who had a stroke. All still living with the effect of these life changing conditions

The Histiocyctosis research trust is providing valuable research into a devastating disease. The money raised will be in memory of my beautiful godson, who I miss everyday.
