Cardiac Risk In The Young
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) is the UK charity that supports those affected by conditions that can cause young sudden cardiac death. Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) aims to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. CRY is a national charity and relies on the generous donations of CRY supporters to fulfill it's ambitious aims. For more information please contact CRY on 01737 363 222 or cry@c-r-y.org.uk

Hi, thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

Fiona, Suzy, Tara and Francesca - also known as Team Jamesy P - are running the Virgin London Marathon on 26th April 2015 in memory of James, who died suddenly on Sunday, 21st September 2014 while running the Reigate Half Marathon for charity.  He was 27 years old.  James was an incredible, happy, adventurous, fun and loving person (we could go on forever!) and he is missed very deeply by very many.

Every week in the UK at least 12 young people aged under 35 die of undiagnosed heart conditions.  We are raising money for CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young - who support young people diagnosed with cardiac conditions, offer bereavement support to affected loved ones, run free heart screening programmes and fund medical research and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals.  CRY have been a great support to us through losing James and they are an outstanding and worthy charity.  Their website is www.c-r-y.org.uk

We will be holding a few fundraisers and raffles over the next few months aiming to raise as much as we can for CRY and for James.  You can visit our blog and keep up to date with our training and fundraising progress at http://teamjamesyp.tumblr.com

We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations; they really will help to make a difference.  We will do James proud!
