My page:

This year I am once more running the London Marathon for the One City Trust.  Running with me is my trainer Andy McNaughton without whom none of this would have been possible.  Andy volunteered his services two years ago and we have been running together ever since. The Trust, of which I am President, fights against inequality and exclusion in Edinburgh.  I am passionate about the need for all the citizens of this great and affluent City to be included in its success and opportunities.

The One City Trust was established in 2003 and arose out of the Lord Provost Commission on Social Exclusion. We now have the addition of the Lord provost's Rapid Action Fund and The CSR Consortium. It funds projects in many areas including inequalities, poverty, education and social welfare. It is solely an Edinburgh charity, dealing with the particular needs of this city whether it be homelessness, care for the elderly or youth work.

Examples of projects supported in the last two years include:

Bridgend Inspiring Growth – Piloting community events at new farmhouse renovation project to form a centre for learning, eating and exercising.

Libertus – 20 week film making project for people with special needs.

Broomhouse Centre – Summer programme of activities for local children and adults.

Bridge8 – Setting up a canal based outdoor activity centre at Westerhailes.

Inch Management Committee – Towards creation of children’s wing at a community centre.

Drylaw/Telford Community Association – Tablets, computers for digital inclusion courses.

With your help we can do so much more so please give us your support.
