Pageant
Pageant is a small UK based charity, which provides help with education in The Gambia. We have provided furniture and equipment to schools throughout The Gambia, and helped with the construction and renovation of classrooms, school kitchens, staff-rooms and sports facilities. Pageant provides a service whereby members can sponsor individual students to enable them to complete their education. Poor health can adversely affect students' educational attainments, so Pageant works with village communities in the fight against malaria - distributing mosquito nets, and encouraging the cultivation of Artemisia annua, a plant with proven anti-malarial properties. In the wider community Pageant is helping with adult literacy as well as providing micro-loans to enable women to start small businesses.

Modou Lamin's new leg

Fundraiser:

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/pageant01

Modou Lamin is a six year old boy in The Gambia, who was born with a badly deformed right leg. This was amputated, so he needed a prosthetic leg so that he could lead a normal life.

Pageant launched this appeal to raise the £700 give Modou Lamin his new leg. We have now exceeded this target with a total of £868 raised mainly by offline donations. We have closed this appeal for the time being, and we would like to say a big thank-you to everyone who has made a donation. We may re-open the appeal at some time in the future as Modou Lamin grows and may need further prosthetic treatment.
