I have decided to take on the challenge of the London Marathon.

Not only for a personal achievement, but also to raise money for a great cause.

I will be running for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre which is a drop in centre for anyone affected by cancer. The centre has many services, such as a friendly face and a listening ear, to counselling and therapy sessions for patients. The centre can also help the patients come away from the hospital environment as it has a homely feel to it.

Only one third of the centres funding is through the NHS, and the rest is through various fund raising. An example of what the money can go towards:

-£350 enables the centre to run for 1 day

-£40 pays for a therapy session for a patient

-£10 provides an information pack for patients starting treatment.

This centre means alot to me too because in 2013 when my Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer she undergo all of her chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions at Mount Vernon Hopspital.

The Lynda Jackson centre was there for my Mum when she needed someone to talk too, someone to ask questions too and for other things such as make up classes. Mum always said how friendly and welcoming everyone in the centre was and I will always be grateful as the centre played a part in my Mums recovery.

I will appreciate any donation made, they will all add up and go to a great cause, helping people just like my Mum now and for years to come!
