Charity
The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives. The owner of this page is raising money in trust on behalf of the British Red Cross, it is the page owners responsibility to ensure that the British Red Cross is able to channell any money raised for a specific appeal or stated purpose, prior to any fundraising taking place. In the unlikely event that this dialogue has not taken place, then the British Red Cross will allocate the funds raised where ever the need is greatest in furtherence of its charitable objectives.
Please note Virgin Money Giving isn't responsible for the content fundraisers post on their pages, but if you see something you feel is offensive or inappropriate, please let us know and we'll look into it.
Miho Aishima's fundraising page
Hi there,
Thank you for checking out my 1000 Origami Paper crane challenge. I plan to make 1000 paper cranes to be completed by 11 June, three months after the earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. In Japan, it is said that whoever folds a thousand paper cranes will be granted a wish – my wish is for a swift recovery in rebuilding their lives and homes in Japan. My goal is to raise £1000 (£1 for each crane).
Japan is a very special place in my heart since my family are from there and I find it heartbreaking that such a huge tragedy has occurred in this great country.
The money raised will be given to the British Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Tsunami appeal. Each week, I will tag the images of the completed cranes with donors names tagged within the photo. I really appreciate all your support and thank you very much for looking.
I am also looking for places/spaces where all 1000 of the cranes can be exhibited together and possibly live as a future home. Any suggestions please let me know.
If you would prefer just to help the organisations directly please go to:

Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
