Hertfordshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre Ltd
Our purpose is to provide effective and affordable therapies for every person with Multiple Sclerosis and similar neurological conditions like Parkinson's, ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia and Stroke, throughout Hertfordshire. We welcome people coming to us from anywhere. We offer Physiotherapy, specialist exercise and rehab programmes, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and a Pain Relief Clinic. We also support the circle of people affected by these serious medical conditions including families and carers. In order to sustain this we depend on the generous financial support of people who help us and the many volunteers who give us their time.
Brain Tumour Research
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable! We are striving to fund a network of seven dedicated research centres whilst challenging the government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research. Help us fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.

The 100 Mile Summer

Fundraisers:
Violet H, Maddie D

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/100milesummer

Maddie and Violet, both aged 10,  have committed to covering 100 miles over their summer holidays - mostly cycling but also hiking, swimming, running and rafting to raise funds and awareness for two charities close to their hearts.

Maddie's Auntie who she sadly didn't get to meet was the same age as the girls when she was very ill. Her first brain tumour was operated on and she had lots of radiotherapy and chemo and lived in London hospitals, even attending school in hospital. Sadly the tumour returned and in those days it wasn't possible to operate again, but things might have been different if it was now. She died when she was 13 in 1991. She also did loads of fundraising even when she was incredibly poorly and was an inspiration to many, which was why Maddie was given her name as her middle name.

Violet's granny suffers from MS, which limits her movement and causes pain. She attends her MS Therapy Centre weekly to manage her pain and mobility, it has made a massive impact on her quality of life. Violet is keen to do something to help the centre that helps her granny, to raise funds and create awareness so that other MS sufferers can benefit.

Violet's granny attends the centre in Hertfordshire, there is a network of centres around the UK: - www.msntc.org.uk.

The girls want to help each other to support their chosen charities, and have embarked on their 100 mile challenge. Funds raised will automatically be split 50:50 between the two charities.
