Yorkhill Children’s Charity provides and supports excellence in paediatric, obstetric and neonatal healthcare enhancing the treatment, care and wellbeing of children and their families through The Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Yorkhill and other hospital and community based services both nationally and internationally. From a broken arm to end of life care, from simple play activities to innovative medical equipment and ground breaking paediatric research, our driving passion is to fund any initiative, large or small, that helps to save or improve the life of a child and by association positively affect the lives of their family.

Steve's 2013 in 2013
Hi, thank you for visiting my page. This year my aim is to raise money for Yorkhill Children's Charity.
In September 2011 our daughter, Caitlin, was born with a rare heart condition and required open heart surgery within the first few weeks to save her life. Since then she has had three more operations at Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow and she will require further surgeries and ongoing care until she is an adult.
Marie and I cannot express in words what the surgeons, doctors and nurses at Yorkhill mean to us. They are truly inspirational people who carry out miracles every day and we will be forever thankful for what they have done for Caitlin and our family.
To raise money to pay for vital medical equipment for the hospital my aim is to run 2013 kilometers in 2013 (or 1250 miles in old money). It will be quite a challenge for someone who managed just over 50k in total in 2012!
In the main it will be down to me getting my backside out of bed early in a morning and hitting the road but I also plan on running a number of organised races too.
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
Additionally, Yorkhill Children's Foundation is one of the official charity partners this year for my employer so for every pound raised it will be matched by Standard Life (up to £10,000).
