Charities

ABF The Soldiers Charity
ABF The Soldiers Charity are for soldiers, for life; giving support to serving and retired soldiers and their families. They risk so much for us, but for them, its "just doing their job". In return, The Soldiers’ Charity give them down-to-earth help and friendship, with no hassle or bureaucracy. We help in ways that make a big practical difference to individuals. For example a level access shower for an amputee from a current conflict or care home fees for an elderly veteran. Thats what weve been here to offer for the past 66 years and will be here for as long as there is a need. http://www.soldierscharity.org
Action Against Hunger

Hello and welcome to our page!
Hello and welcome to our page!!

----------------------WHO??------------------------

We are two students from Sheffield university, We share the same name and apparently share a passion for doing stupid, and no doubt painful, things for a good cause.

----------------------WHAT??-----------------------

In August, we will be attempting to pedal 125 miles down The Thames to raise money for ABF and Action Against Hunger. Its just the two of us and this feat should take 9 days, during which we hope to reach a blistering top speed of 2mph.

----------------------WHEN??-----------------------

We set sail on the 17th of August. After 9 days of leg numbing pedaling, we'll be finishing at Putney Bridge, London on the 25th of August (provided we haven't drowned on the way) and want to see as many people there as possible!

----------------------WHY??------------------------

This is a genuine challenge and although it may sound like a laugh it is truly going to test our endurance, our patience and our knees! We wouldn't be doing it if wasn't for some amazing charities and causes that we hope will really benefit from this!

Action Against Hunger - an international humanitarian organisation committed to ending child hunger. Recognised as a leader in the fight against malnutrition, they save the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger.

Army Benevolent Fund (The Soldiers Charity) - The ABF supports soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need. Many of the men and women helped by the ABF are either physically or mentally scarred from their years of service. These people put their lives on the line each day, and ABF is there to offer financial help when they need it most.
