Myeloma UK
Registered as a charity in 1997, Myeloma UK is the leading UK cancer organisation dealing specifically with myeloma and its related disorders. Our broad and innovative range of services cover every aspect of myeloma, from information and support to improving standards of treatment and care through research, education, campaigning and raising awareness. Our strategy is to take an integrated approach to systematically address the barriers and challenges that are slowing down myeloma research and the development of, and access to, new treatments, optimal care, information and support.

march

Hi everyone, thanks for visiting our page.

On Sunday 12 April 2015 approximately 50 of us are going to walk 26 miles around the Purbecks to raise money and awareness for Myeloma UK.

We're each aiming to raise £50 of sponsorship to reach a combined target of £2500.

In November last year Steph's mum, Jill was diagnosed with Myeloma, a rare and debilitating cancer of the bone marrow.

Not many people have heard of Myeloma and that's something we want to change. Around 5000 people in the UK are diagnosed with Myeloma every year but the signs and symptoms of it (back pain, tiredness, repeated infection) often mimic less serious conditions, making diagnosis difficult. Raising awareness about Myeloma could help increase early diagnosis in patients and earlier treatment, which can significantly improve survival rates.

As well as raising awareness, we'd really like to raise some funds for this very important charity. Myeloma UK is the only charity in this country that focuses solely on Myeloma. The charity is dedicated to funding research to improve treatments and one day find a cure, as well as supporting patients and their families cope with everything that a Myeloma diagnosis brings. They don't receive any government funding and rely purely on voluntary donations and fundraising.

So please show your support for Jill as she fights Myeloma, and for this important charity, and sponsor us today.

We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Rob and Steph Worth

Please note: Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Myeloma UK. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
