The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of blind and partially sighted people never leave home alone. Guide Dogs empowers visually impaired people to do that and relies totally on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service. We breed and train guide dogs which provide life changing mobility and there are currently 4,500 working guide dog partnerships in the UK. The full lifetime cost of a guide dog from birth to retirement is £48,500. We will not rest until blind and partially sighted people can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.

Hike up the mountain, bike through the forest then kayak across the lake....this is the latest fund raising challenge for ADI.
Not content with cycling 73 miles in June, raising money for local charities, this time we have added hiking and kayaking into the mix.
We will be traversing the fells on a 10km hike up to The Old Man of Coniston (803m), biking 20km in the fantastic trails of the Grizedale Forest and the kayaking a 2km course on Coniston Water using two person sit on top kayaks - all within ten hours.
If you would like to show your support for both ADI and Guide Dogs any donations would be greatly appreciated.
