Sue Ryder - Sue Ryder is a charity providing health and social care to people living with long-term, palliative and end of life needs. We deliver our services in peoples homes, in the community and through our hospices and care centres across the UK. We support people, their families and friends affected by conditions including cancer, stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, dementia, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease and motor neurone disease. Each year we provide 4 million hours of care, make 1.4 million home visits to people in need and deliver 100,000 days of long-term residential care. we are one of the largest providers of specialist palliative and end of life care in the UK. Our work goes beyond the UK. Sue Ryder also supports the delivery of specialised health and social care across Europe and in Southern Africa.

Keighley BigK 10K run/walk

18 March 2012

On 18th March 2012 over 500 hardy souls will be rising early on a Sunday morning, putting on their trainers and tackling the Keighley BigK 10K run/walk to support the fantastic care that Sue Ryder provide both at Manorlands Hospice, near Oxenhope and in the local communities of Keighley, Ilkley, Bradford, Craven and the Dales. This is a challenging run or walk for all as the undulating route and the different types of terrain the runners must cope with as they negotiate the 10K through the parks and paths of Keighley. Whether a member of a running club or someone who rarely leaves the sofa, completing the challenge of the BigK 10K means that a tremendous tremendous amount as runners know that by taking part they are helping Sue Ryder's local patients tackle serious challenges of their own.
