Guide Dogs
The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of blind and partially sighted people never leave home alone. Guide Dogs empowers visually impaired people to do that and relies totally on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service. We breed and train guide dogs which provide life changing mobility and there are currently 4,500 working guide dog partnerships in the UK. The full lifetime cost of a guide dog from birth to retirement is £48,500. We will not rest until blind and partially sighted people can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.
Only 0 days to go!

My page:

Hi, and firstly thanks for visiting my page!

As you can see, I have volunteered my spindly little legs to the Guide Dogs for the blind, and embark on the journey of a lifetime...

...a journey, in fact, of colossal distance...

...a journey, that histories back to 490 BC...

...a journey only an elite few can say they have achieved...

...that journey, is to run the London Marathon!!

If you know me, running long distances is not my forte, however in the words of the late, great Roy Castle..."dedications what you need"... and I am throwing myself into this fully, running as frequently as I can...sometimes upto a full 20mins! :-)

So, here comes the important part - the reason for this, is the amazing work the Guide Dogs do in providing mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people!!  Something that I feel is not given enough support nor exposure compared to other organisations.

I really do appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations - they will mean so much to the valuable work this charity does!!

Thanks again,

Adam "Running man" Brett

(I had to get one Arnie quote in there...)
