Over The Wall
Over The Wall provide a programme of therapeutic recreational breaks for children and young people aged 8-17 who are affected by serious illnesses. Children are encouraged to take part in a range of physical, creative and social activities all designed to help rebuild confidence, establish new friendships, have fun and make new, lasting friendships which act as a support network for years to come. Camps are run at three centres throughout the UK; Bryanston School in Dorset, The Pioneer Centre in Kidderminster and Glenalmond College in Perth. We are registered with the American Camp Association (ACA), The Scottish Care Commission (SCC) and The Hole in the Wall Association (HITWA). Each organisation carries our regular inspections which includes assessing our programme, medical support, venues and staff/volunteer training. These inspections ensure that we deliver the highest quality programmes possible.

When Ian and I heard about OTW and the fantastic work the charity does for seriouly ill children in the North East we wanted to do something a little bit challenging and special to help raise money and awareness on their behalf.  It seemed a good idea at the time but the closer it gets the scarier it becomes.  The cycling parts should be okay but the double marathon in the middle section will be really challenging!!  However, the children we are doing this for have to face far greater challenges than this every day of their lives so I'm sure we can put up with a little pain and discomfort to bring them a week of fun and happiness, so we're going to give it our best shot.

OTW camps provide an opportunity for seriously ill children to reach beyond the limitations of their illness to find friendship and fun and simply be children in a special and safe environment.  The difference these camps have made to many young lives in the NE and their families is amazing and there's nothing else like it in the UK.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
