Al Barrett is running the London Marathon!
Thanks for visiting my page and some facts:
- I have to run 26.2 miles, on 22nd April 2012, without stopping and the furthest I’ve ever run is about 6 miles!
- Yes, I am turning 40 next year and yes this is a mid-life crisis (if only I could ride a motorbike!).
- I need to raise over £2,500 for the British Heart Foundation.
- I am intending to complete it in 5 to 6 hours.
- I have joined FaceBook (for fundraising purposes only!).
- And Yes that is a picture of me, ready for a bracing run along the Whitstable coastline! (more pictures to come)!
The British Heart Foundation is a charity very close to my heart :) and does make a massive difference in the challenge of curing heart disease within this country. Most of you know that I lost my Dad very suddenly to Heart Disease and this is a major motivation to complete both the Marathon and Fund Raising Target.
I know I’ve got a hefty fundraising target to hit and am therefore very happy to consider any challenges in relation to the marathon, in return for an extra donation amount!
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
I really appreciate all your support and start thinking of those challenges!
