Malaika Kids
Malaika Kids aims to help as many AIDS orphans as we can, initially in Tanzania, through our flexible care programme, which provides real homes to orphans, a stable upbringing and effective education. We want these orphans to grow up to be independent and productive members of society. Malaika Kids UK is responsible for fund-raising and co-managing our care work in Tanzania. Our trustees and committee are all unpaid volunteers, which enables us to keep admin expenses to a minimum - currently less than 3% p.a.

An Ironman for Malaika Kids

Alain Crottaz

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

I met the Chairman of Malaika Kids on a flight from Amsterdam to London in December 2010. He was just returning from Tanzania to see how the construction work of the new Orphan Village was going (hosting up to 320 orphans). He told me the story of the organisation, the way they operated, etc..and a week later I was sponsoring my first Malaika Kid.

This was a start but I decided, I could do more. I am racing an Ironman in 12 months. I did my first Ironman in 2010 with a time of 11:38. The challenge is to race sub 11:00. In the event I do not reach my objective I will double the amount of the total money raised.

You can follow my journey to the Ironman Western Australia, Dec 9th 2012 in the blogposts below.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
