Charity
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the charity that saves lives at sea. The RNLI’s volunteer lifeboat crews rescue an average of 22 people every day around the coasts and waterways of Britain and Ireland. From 235 lifeboat stations, they are well trained and equipped to put to sea in the most fearsome conditions when the call comes. RNLI lifeguards patrol more than 140 beaches in England and Wales. As well as rescuing people from the water, they are also on hand for first aid and safety advice, making sure everyone can make the most of their day at the beach. Are you passionate about the water? Do you want to be part of a lifesaving team? Whatever the reason for your interest in our work, we’d love to have you onboard. The RNLI is an independent charity and receives no government funding. We rely on public support.

Alexandra Powell's RNLI fundraising page
Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
I am running the BUPA Great South Run on the 28th of October 2012 in the hope of raising money for the RNLI. http://www.greatrun.org/events/event.aspx?id=12
In April this year I was involved in a Windsurfing incident off Chichester Harbour. I ended up a mile out to sea and in a Force 11 (A violent storm,64-73mph winds)...not the most ideal of situations...
The RNLI was really speedy and supportive in my rescue and I wanted to raise some money as a way of thanking them for saving my bacon and to also raise awareness as to how great the RNLI really are!
The RNLI relies on donations and support to continue to be able to save lives at sea. It is an independent charity which recieves no funding from the UK Governement. Please donate generously to support the RNLI and help them continue with their fantastic work rescuing watersports enthusiasts.
Thankyou,
Alex x x
