BAFTA
Funds raised from the marathon will support a BAFTA UK-wide series of special screenings for children with life limiting conditions and their families. These screenings are in partnership with local children’s hospices. As the leading charity in the UK, supporting the art forms of the moving image, BAFTA ensures that the very best creative work can be accessed and appreciated by the British public. Our esteemed Awards ceremonies are high profile celebrations of our industries’ greatest achievements, but our Learning & Events programme and Heritage projects form the heart of our charity work. Reaching a diverse audience of all age groups, it offers unique access to some of the world’s most inspiring talent. On-stage events, ongoing projects and our website bafta.org/guru encourage the public to deepen their understanding of the art forms they are touched by every day and, at the same time, ensure the creative industries achieve the highest standards

Hi

Thanks for visiting my page.

I've set myself the biggest challenge of my life this year - I am running the London Marathon! I wish I had tried this lifelong goal earlier in my life... but I've finally managed to get a place now I'm 45!  So the challenge is even greater!

There are just 10 days left until the event and so far training has gone well, my longest run was 22 miles in 3 hrs 40 mins. so I am on target to run it in about 4hrs 30 mins.

I'm tryng to raise money for BAFTA.  As part of the Duke’s Charities Forum and HRH The Duke of Cambridge’s patronage of BAFTA, they are raising funds to support a series of special Children’s Hospice screenings for children with life-limited conditions and their families throughout the UK.  Here are a couple of links for more info:

It's a great charity.  As mother of 2 healthy children I can't imagine the difficulties these families go through.  BAFTA hopes the screenings can give these children a very special experience and treasured memory that they otherwise would find extremely difficult to access.

For more info on how my training has gone have a look at a blog written for Media Parents:
