Every day, Norwood supports thousands of people with learning disabilities and children and families in need, helping them to change their lives, one by one. We believe people should live the life they choose and we work with individuals to change their lives and achieve their goals. Delivered by 1200 staff and supported by 800 dedicated volunteers, our services are divided into Children and Family Services and Adult Services. If you believe Norwood may be able to help you call us now on 020 8954 4555.

Amy is climbing Kilimanjaro for her Mum
although my mum would have killed me if she knew I was going to do this.
As many of you may know, my mum, Lynn, died in 2005 at the age of 58, after a nine month battle with cancer. Since then I have wanted to raise money for a cause she really cared about in honour of her life and her exceptional work with children with special needs and learning difficulties. I am therefore raising money for the wonderful Norwood Hope Centre, and I would be very grateful if you would sponsor me as I attempt to climb Africa's highest mountain.
The Hope Centre provides services for children and young people (aged 3-19) with a wide spectrum of special needs from autism to dyspraxia to emotional and behavioural problems. The essential work they're doing fills a gap in the educational and social development of many children's lives and enables them to fulfil their potential, despite some tremendous challenges. Here are some inspiring examples of their work:

In return for your kind sponsorship, in October I vow to haul myself up nearly 20,000 feet of treacherous mountain in freezing conditions at a very high altitude. Considering I have the lung power of a hamster and lose all blood to my extremities if the weather changes, I shall also be hoping that I don't just keel over and watch my fingers drop off.
Please note that I am covering the costs of the trip myself, the donation I am asking you for will go to the Norwood Hope Centre.
Donating through this site is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me. The Norwood Hope Centre gets your money faster and if you're a UK taxpayer, it makes sure that 28% of Gift Aid is added to your donation. Thank you for your support!
If you are a US taxpayer you can make a tax efficient donation on my US sponsorship page at:

p.s. Picture is of me and mum. It's the only picture I had to hand where she's not wearing her glasses. Being photographed without one's glasses was also a life-long dedication of my mum's, but I won't be raising money for it.
