Charity

Queenscourt Hospice
Queenscourt Hospice is an independent charity that provides specialist palliative care to the community in Southport, Formby, West Lancashire and surrounding areas. Opened in 1991 it is largely dependent on voluntary donations to provide the care that all its patients and their relatives deserve. Our services include a ten bedded In Patient unit, a Day Therapy service with many complementary therapies including creative therapy, an Out Patient unit and our new Queenscourt at Home service which recently enjoyed its first birthday. Our Terence Burgess Education Centre runs training courses attended by a wide variety of health professionals and others concerned with caring for the terminally ill. Without the help and support of people who go that little bit extra or that one step further we would not be able to continue providing our exceptional standard of care. We would like to thank everyone who might consider Queenscourt Hospice as the beneficiary of their kindness.

Andrew Watkinson - London Marathon 2012

Fundraiser:

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Andrew_Watkinson

Hi, thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I will be running the London 2012 Marathon in aid of a great charity, Queenscourt Hospice, and would really appreciate your support as I aim to raise as much as possible for this fantastic cause.

I recently ran the Liverpool Marathon (my first marathon) in 4Hrs 51mins and am training hard to beat this time at London 2012.

Sophie will be supporting me by cheering me on to help me get to the end and your support through a donation, however big or small, would be greatfully received.

Don't forget to giftaid it so the taxman can help the fundraising effort too!

Thankyou very much for your support.

(Update - 20/04/2012)

Good Luck to all the London Marathon runners on Sunday.

Special mention and thanks to Will Clatyon who has kindly volunteered to look after me and the family during the weekend and will be with me (nearly) all the way helping to get me to the finish in one piece!  Thanks mate - see you 4.5 miles - lets do this!!

(Update - 23/04/2012)

Thanks too every-one for their fantastic support and all the messages to see how I had got on.  Finished in 4h 44min and 39 secs so not quite as quick as I had hoped but better than Liverpool.  Well done to Will for a super effort of 4h 36min (sorry I slowed you done mate!).

Special thanks to my unofficial fundraising manager (aka Dad) for all his help with the offline fundraising effort and his generous contribution to the total.
