Charities
We exist to help improve the lives of people affected by cancer, both those living with cancer and also their families and carers. Our primary focus is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Ty Hafan offers comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families helping them make the most of the time they have left together. Not only is Ty Hafan a home from home providing specialist palliative care, but it also offers a much needed source of strength, respite and support for the whole family. From diagnosis to bereavement and beyond it takes its support right into the heart of the family home. For Ty Hafan to offer this unique service completely free of charge to families in Wales, it has to raise millions every year.
Having a child diagnosed with cancer comes as a devastating blow. Faced with a period of months and sometimes years of gruelling treatment and an unknown future, the related emotional ups and downs are often referred to by families as like "being on a rollercoaster". LATCH is a charity that supports children who are receiving treatment for cancer at the Children's Hospital for Wales and their families. We provide parents' accommodation in the hospital to avoid family separation, financial support to help with immediate needs, funding for dedicated staff to help the families as well as equipment and research workers. Your donations make a huge difference to their lives, please help if you can. Thank you.
Wales Air Ambulance saves time and saves lives. The charity provides vital air cover across the whole of Wales for life-threatening illness or injury. Its 3 red and green helicopters are confronted with a diverse and challenging landscape, but from mountain tops to city roads, Wales Air Ambulance can reach any corner of Wales within just 20 minutes. The fast response times and access to such difficult locations increases the chances of getting to a hospital within the Golden Hour. This is the first sixty minutes after trauma, and a patient’s chances of survival and an early recovery are greatly improved if they receive the most appropriate care within this crucial hour. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, Wales Air Ambulance has responded to more than 14,500 missions since its launch on St David's Day 2001. Each mission costs approximately £1500. The charity relies solely on public donations to raise over £5 million every year to keep the air ambulances flying for Wales.
