Charity
ChildReach International is an innovative children's charity that works with local communities in some of the world's poorest regions, helping them give their children a brighter future. Thanks to your generous support, more and more children are escaping a life of grinding poverty and given the chance to reach their full potential.

Education is a Human Right
Having been privileged to enjoy being in education for most of my life, I found it very hard to see many other people struggling and fighting to have access to their most basic right of learning and “free education.” (free in both material and moral sense)
So I decided it’s time to give back and show my appreciation of having these privileges by expressing solidarity with young people in countries with oppressing regimes, where the educational system and contents are heavily influenced and controlled by the politics and ideology. Moreover to contribute directly to the educational projects in the poorest regions of the world, where going to school is an unapproachable dream for many children.
Therefore, I am supporting the educational projects and humanitarian goals of Childreach International Charity by taking up the challenge of ascending Mount Kilimanjaro and reaching its peak in July 2011.
Childreach International focuses on providing developing countries such as Tanzania or Ghana sustainable programmes through which essential skills for empowering local populations are acquired by the young generations. For example, only in Tanzania there are 3 programmes running: Vocational Training Centres, School Improvement Centres and a Carbon Offsetting Programme. More details about the charity and the impact of its implemented programmes can be found here: http://www.childreach.org.uk/who-we-are/our-impact
To understand the big impact any small donation has, have a look at these facts:
- £16 provides a child with books vital to their learning, supporting them throughout their entire primary education
- £90 provides enough rice to feed a school for 3 months
- £100 provides 5 children in danger from abuse and exploitation with support from our children’s development and empowerment programme
- £350 provides the salary of a part time Maths or English teacher in Tanzania for 1 year
- £873 provides 300 Maths and English textbooks for a primary school
- £1800 provides 10 new toilet blocks in a Tanzanian primary school, providing 270 children with a healthier environment to learn in
To help the charity keep running these vital programmes for the local communities, I will need all the available support you can give. If you believe in the same cause I pledged for to climb Kili, then you are welcome to leave a donation as a token, no matter how small!
