Charities
The Fire Fighters Charity provides vital support services to fire service personnel and their families when they need it most. The Charity’s three specialist centres across the UK offer fire fighters the help they need to recover from injury, surgery or illness, so they can get back to their job of saving lives.
Help for Heroes (H4H) was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry after a profoundly moving visit to Selly Oak Hospital in the summer of 2007. Bryn and Emma met some extraordinarily brave young people who had been badly wounded and they just wanted to do something to help. "It’s about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It’s about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It’s about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It’s about Ben, it’s about Steven and Andy and Mark, it’s about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes."
Making a difference to children in Wales who have cerebral palsy. Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales is a registered charity providing specialist Bobath therapy to children from all over Wales who have cerebral palsy. Bobath therapists work together as a team combining physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. Children are referred by their consultant paediatrician and we accept children regardless of the severity of their disability. At Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales we focus on the ability and not the disability. Cerebral palsy is caused by damage to a baby or young child’s brain. This affects a child’s ability to move and develop in the normal way and each child is affected differently. There is no cure but the specialist Bobath therapy we provide makes a difference to every child with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy - the facts Cerebral palsy is the largest disability in children in the world today. Every six hours another child is born who will have cerebral palsy. Any woman who is pregnant could have a child with cerebral palsy. You could have a child or grandchild with cerebral palsy. Although the brain damage that occurs is permanent and there is no cure available, Bobath therapy makes a positive difference to the life of every child who has cerebral palsy. Every child who has cerebral palsy is affected differently; therefore each one needs an individual assessment and therapy plan. Cerebral palsy can affect movement, sensation, perception, cognition, communication and eating and drinking. In some children, all of these functions may be affected.

Emrys Vs Atacama
Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
In March 2013 i will be attempting to Run and walk across 250km of the most inhospitable and arid desert on earth in seven days in aid of charity ...The Atacama desert in Chile !!....Temperatures in the Atacama will reach 40c during the day and drop to 5c at night ,there is also the altiitude to contend with ,between 3300m -2300m , the terrain will also be difficult, sand dunes ,salt flats ,rocky landscape etc ....., this is going to be a huge personal challenge for me but it gives me the oppurtunity to raise money for these charities .
Thank you for taking the time to visit the page and your donation no matter how large or small will be gratefully received. Once again many thanks and take care.
Id like to thank Outlook expeditions , Lubas medical and The Village kitchen and Bar Whitchurch for donating toward the event fee , without their help it would be a lot harder to raise funds for these worthwhile charities.
