2012 Virgin London Marathon

22 April 2012

The Virgin London Marathon is one of the great British sporting events, combining elite athletics, mass participation and record-breaking fundraising in one race. The course is a gruelling 26 miles 385 yards long, passing through the streets of London from Blackheath to the famous finish line at The Mall.

Marathon One (Running): The London Marathon. 22nd April 2012

Marathon Two (Cycling): Edinburgh to Richmond.  16th June 2012

 As part of the continued support for missing people, BDP members Caroline Stassen, Poppy Emuss, Scott McNeely,  Barney Bonner and Phil Gray from the London studio will run and cycle in two separate but equally gruelling marathons. Beginning in April Caroline, Poppy and Barney will take on the 26 miles of London streets on foot and later in June Scott and Phil will tackle the 450+ miles from capital to capital in 5 days on two wheels, raising money for this amazing charity.

Following the tremendous success of BDP’s Cycle for Jo relay across the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands last May, we have all been keen to keep this strong relationship with missing people active. So when we were asked to become members of the missing people teams for the London Marathon and their new cycle challenge, we jumped at the chance. BDP has been so touched by the passion, the stories and the energy of the missing people group and feel honoured to provide our time, ideas and bodies to help continue our relationship and help in what ever way the individuals and the families that they support every day.

missing people are a lifeline when someone disappears. Made up of caring and high ly trained staff and volunteers working in collaboration with partners across the UK. For those left behind, they provide specialised support to end the heartache and confusion and search for their missing loved one. www.missingpeople.org.uk
