The Sick Children's Trust provides 'Home from Home' accommodation for the families of sick children whilst they receive vital medical treatment in hospital often far from home. Families are able to stay together close to their child and offer each other essential support during a difficult and distressing time.
The Benevolent’s mission is to work with our industry and charity partners to combat challenging social issues such as long-term illness, homelessness, poverty and disability, as well as providing practical, emotional and financial support to those from our trade in need.

BI Run the Medoc Marathon!
A Marathon? In Bordeaux…?
Surely sensible people travel to south-west France for the gastronomy and the fruits of the vine? Well, perhaps – but on 8th September 2012, a group of plucky BI staff will run 26 (and a bit) gut-busting miles through some of Bordeaux’s most famous scenery and vineyard regions. They will combine not fine food and vinous luxury, but pain, grit, stitch… and of course ultimately joy, relief, satisfaction and the knowledge of a personal milestone well and truly passed (and a good deal of cash raised to boot).
The historic race will be run in aid of two very deserving causes – The Sick Children’s Trust and The Benevolent – and of course for the ultimate bragging rights in the office. Bearing in mind there are some experienced distance runners in the team alongside some marathon virgins we are expecting quite a spread of times; but as with tasting wines blind, sometimes something can reach way beyond your expectations and cause an upset. Only time will tell.
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
