The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the charity that saves lives at sea. The RNLI’s volunteer lifeboat crews rescue an average of 22 people every day around the coasts and waterways of Britain and Ireland. From 235 lifeboat stations, they are well trained and equipped to put to sea in the most fearsome conditions when the call comes. RNLI lifeguards patrol more than 140 beaches in England and Wales. As well as rescuing people from the water, they are also on hand for first aid and safety advice, making sure everyone can make the most of their day at the beach. Are you passionate about the water? Do you want to be part of a lifesaving team? Whatever the reason for your interest in our work, we’d love to have you onboard. The RNLI is an independent charity and receives no government funding. We rely on public support.

Dress up Friday
Our mail order department is normally awash with jeans and trainers but on 9th December that all went out the window when we had a Dress Up Friday to raise a bit more cash. Staff donned their glad rags and paid big chief Geoff to serve them bucks fizz and canapes! Over £40 was made over a very pleasant couple of hours.

Jewellery designer Helen Bowen has kindly donated this fabulous necklace and earrings combo to be auctioned off to help us towards our target. We were absolutely over the moon that Meg Robertson from Sunderland managed to bag this gorgeous item. Meg pledged £100 plus £25 gift aid which was a fabulous result.
Textile Collection total
Earlier in the year we asked you to donate your unwanted clothing and fabric to add to our total. The collection has been weighed and we made a fab £50! You can see this addition in our offline fundraising. Thanks to everyone who donated.
Pier to Pier Swim
Congratulations to Keri Kennedy who completed her pier to pier swim on 11th July 2011. She has been training as part of the brilliant sea swimming course 'Pool to Pier' at Brighton Swimming School as a personal challenge since January. Keri has donated all her sponsor money to our RNLI fundraising

RNLI Necklace Making Kit Now Available!
Please help us reach our target by buying our funky necklace kit designed by, our in-house designer, Gemma. It also comes with an RNLI badge. A £6 donation from each necklace will go straight to the RNLI. The kit is available on our Beads Unlimited website

Cake and Jewellery Party at The Brighton Bead Shop - Thanks to all of you who made it down to our cake and jewellery party at The Brighton Bead Shop on Saturday 28th May. Our total for the day totted up at just over £500 which is a fabulous boost for our £10,000 target.
Rags to Riches - Please have a look through your cupboards for fabric scraps and old clothes to be recycled and drop them in to The Brighton Bead Shop, 21 Sydney Street, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 4EN. The items DON'T have to be wearable!

Well Done Jake! - Jake Kennedy, husband of Beads Unlimited's Creative Assistant Keri, ran Brighton Marathon on Sunday the 10th of April. As a first time marathon runner, he did brilliantly, completing the run in 4 hours 58 minutes! Thanks to all of you who sponsored him. All his donations went towards our RNLI target.
The Brighton Bead Shop Silver Jubilee Fundraising Day
We would like to say a very big thank you to all of you who joined us on Saturday 5th March for our Silver Jubilee Fundraising Day at The Brighton Bead Shop. The grand total for the day was just over £500.
Sea and Cakes - We know you are a sociable lot out there so why not hold a tea party to help us reach our target. It doesn't have to be anything fancy - a Victoria sponge between friends is perfect. Why not take a cake to work for colleagues to purchase on their break? Or hold it at your bead group, book group or girly night in?
