Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service
The Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service has been set up in memory of our amazing son Alexander. Alexander was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour in November 2001 at the tender age of just four years. He endured operations, treatments and chemotherapy in his four year fight against cancer, with exceptional courage and bravery, with great dignity and without complaint. In honour of his outstanding courage and strength we have formed the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service to support children and their families with life limiting illnesses. The long term aim for Alexander's Trust is to build, fund and run 'Alexander House' a Children's Hospice in the Berkshire area providing much needed respite care, support for families, an outreach team and specialised palliative care. My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting our page.

It’s time to get on your bike as Beard helps to raise funds for a new  children’s hospice. Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is Beard’s charity of the year and we are organising a fundraising sponsored bike ride on Saturday, September 19th.

This local charity was set up by Fiona and John Devine, inspired by their son, Alexander. It was only when Alexander was diagnosed with a brain tumour, aged just four, that they realised there was no children’s hospice in the Berkshire area.

Sadly Alexander died after a brave 4 ½ year battle. But Fiona and John were so determined that the care and support they so desperately needed would be there for other local families, they founded Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service and now Beard is preparing to start work on this remarkable building.

We need you to saddle up and get fundraising!
