The Eikon Charity
"Supporting young people through today, unlocking potential for tomorrow." Increasing numbers of young people in the UK begin life in difficult or unhappy circumstances. Eikon exists to help these young people transform their lives by providing support, coaching and challenging activities through their pivotal teenage years. These activities and programmes are run by qualified frontline staff, based in secondary schools where strong relationships are built with young people, their families and the wider community. This work has grown from a fortnightly youth club in the small town of New Haw in 1995 to what it is today, encompassing 13 schools across Surrey.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. I Am doing a sponsored skydive for the charity Eikon. I have wanted to do a jump for years but have never had the confidence or nerve to go ahead and do it. Now thanks to the help of Slimming world and my fantastic consultant Karen i have lost a total of 4 st 5lb. After shedding this weight i have decided now is the time to go for it. I have decided to support Eikon as it is not only a very worthwhile charity but also it is a charity that my slimming world group is supporting also.

Eikon is a Surrey based charity, working to support local children, young people and their families. Since 1995 they have supported over 12,000 young people. That includes those struggling to cope with all manners of daunting challenges, from bullying to abuse, alcohol and substance misuse/addiction, self-harming, depression, bereavement, relational problems and pregnancy.

Eikon is independent, innovative and community driven. Working in local schools, and within the community, they strive to be proactive rather than reactive, working at the root-cause of problems and providing early intervention to help young people from reaching crisis point.

All the money you raise for Eikon is used directly to provide young people with the support they need. Here are a few examples of what this money could go towards:

A lunch club for young carers to enable them to share experiences.

A bereavement course for young people who are struggling to cope with the trauma of bereavement.

A training session for peer supporters who have been selected to support younger students in the school.

A session offering support to a parent struggling with the challenges of parenting.

A family mediation session helping a family to move forward in challenging circumstances.

**Please note that 50% of the cost of the skydive will be taken from the money raised.**

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
