Charity
Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) was the first charity in the UK to be set up in response to the HIV epidemic and is the UK's leading HIV and sexual health charity. Our mission is to reduce the spread of HIV, promote good sexual health and provide services that improve the health and quality of life of anyone affected. We also campaign for greater public and political understanding of the personal, social and medical impact of HIV and sexual ill health.

Ben is running the London Marathon!!
HI ALL!!
So I've decided to do the London Marathon in aid of the Terrence Higgins Trust. This is a BIG DEAL as I'm not exactly Forrest Gump when it comes to running. I'll give you a brief explanation of the charity and why I'm doing the run and then I'll explain my really, really dumb fancy dress idea.
The Terrence Higgins Trust is named after Terry Higgins, one of the first people to die of AIDS in the UK. They do a lot of different work in the UK but I guess it splits roughly into two areas. The first is supporting people living with HIV, be that through relevant legal aid, treatment advice, counselling or support groups. This is really vital work - helping people deal with being HIV positive and showing them how full their life can still be. The other area is within education; the Terrence Higgins Trust go out to schools and youth centres and educate kids on this big potential threat. If it wasn't for the past work of the Terrence Higgins Trust many more people could be suffering with HIV due to ignorance over the virus. However, HIV diagnoses are rising in the UK and to meet this unprecedented rise, partly due to a lowering of public education on HIV from government, the Terrence Higgins Trust will need more funds to increase its operations.
That's where you and me come in; I've already spent many hours tutoring to raise my fundraising total to £367 so far and with your help I can get this up to £1750
To further entice you into sponsoring me I propose the following fancy dress:
I'll run the marathon dressed as Freddie Mercury in 'I want to break free' - Hoover and all. I may even convert the hoover to pump out Queen music (if time). This will result in me being in crippling pain and being totally embarrassed. If you don't know what I mean by this costume, watch this video:

So please, please get sponsoring and please add gift aid!
Thanks in advance
Ben
