Ectopic pregnancy affects as many as 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK, with as many as 30,000 occurring in England alone, and sadly resulting in the death of around 5 women each year. The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust provides information, education and support to those whose lives are touched by the condition and to the professionals who care for them. We receive no government of core funding and rely entirely on third party donations and fundraising to deliver our services which are free at the point of delivery. Carmen Runs London 2012
Hi, thanks for visiting my page.
I am running my 6th London Marathon, my running number is 28441 and I will be wearing a bright purple tutu as this year I have chosen to raise money for the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, the colour is purple. I want to raise awareness of the condition and help others who have gone through an ectopic pregnancy.
My training has been good, apart from a pulled thigh muscle in February which meant I missed a few runs. But i did manage to continue long slow runs with the injury, just missed the hill work and speed work. However I feel all set for the big day next week.
I had an ectopic pregnancy myself and had to undergo emergency surgery. The charity offered fabulous support and is now very close to my heart.
Times are tough, but if you can dig deep to spare a few pennies or pounds to support this fantastic cause, it would be very much appreciated by all.
