THANK YOU! I DID IT! Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported the Royal British Legion. BUT I committed to raising £2000 so I am keeping this page open until October 23rd. I have a 1940s wartime recipe app and keepsake recipe book series coming out later in the summer and £1 from each item sold will be donated to the Royal British Legion until my goal is reached. I'm running this for the Royal British Legion and I'm running this against my fight against obesity. To cut to the chase I went from a very fit endurance loving 22 year old, head to head with the guys kinda gal in the auxiliary forces to a morbidly obese 350 lb (nearly 25 stone) woman who could barely walk 100m without having to plonk my bum down!. I've been battling my obesity for years and despite still being obese, I've shifted 75 lbs with at least another 100 to go.

THANK YOU to my work colleagues, friends and family who are also donating offline too! Here is a list of them!

The Royal British Legion is a charity that is close to my heart and I am PROUD to be running my first London Marathon as part of 'Team Legion'.

The first 13 years of my married life was spent living and raising my children (as a forces wife) in a military environment and I look back on those years with great fondness and respect for the people who work within the armed forces. Our life had a wonderful sense of community and togetherness...

Before my foray into motherhood I was involved in the 'reserve forces' and I learned much from that period of time. I learned how hard people worked, how difficult situations could be and how dedicated the people were I worked with.

I am particularly passionate about supporting our veteran's in facing the aftermath of life beyond the forces either due to retirement or due to tragedy/illness.

I want to dedicate my run to these people and the Royal British Legion who really strive to help people overcome difficulties who are in or have been part of the armed forces.
