Virgin Unite
Virgin Unite is the non-profit foundation of the Virgin Group. We unite people to tackle tough social and environmental problems in an entrepreneurial way. Our aim is to help revolutionize the way businesses, government and the social sector work together - driving business as a force for good. This is based on the belief that this is the only way we can tackle the scale and urgency of the challenges facing the world today. All of Virgin Unite’s overheads are covered by Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, meaning that 100% of additional donations received, go direct to the frontline where they are needed most.
East Anglian Air Ambulance
The East Anglian Air Ambulance is a lifesaving charity covering the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. We receive no Government funding so are entirely dependant on fundraisers, donations and the generosity of the public. We have to raise over £3 million a year to continue our service, flying 365 days a year, with an average of four to five missions per day. Beacuse our crews can get to patients fast and provide advanced medical attention we can be the difference between complete recovery and long term injury, life and death. Road traffic accidents account for over 50% of the incidents we're called to. Due to the speed of the helicopters it takes no more than 13 minutes to the nearest A&E department within the region. It's your support that enables us to save lives.

Virgin Media Skydive 100

29 March 2011

On Tuesday 29th March, 100 brave volunteers from Virgin Media will complete a tandem skydive, raising money for Virgin Unite and the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Team Virgin Media skydive 100 are hoping to raise over £20,000 for these very worthwhile charities. Exiting the aircraft at 13,500ft they will experience 50 seconds of freefall, then after the instructor opens the parachute, a further 5 minutes graceful fall to earth under canopy - most of the team have never done anything like this before and we'll also be breaking the most tandems in one day record at Sibson Airfield, Peterborough. Each of the 100 volunteers have their own Virgin Money Giving pages, so please support them generously! Thank you!
