Dreams Come True Charity
Dreams Come True is a national charity which fulfills the dreams of terminally and seriously ill children aged 2-21 years of age. Every child has their own unique dream and making that dream come true for a child not only brightens their life but is a gift of joy and wonderful memories that parents and family will treasure forever. That's what we do at Dreams Come True every day. From specially adapted trykes to swimming with dolphins, meeting a favourite sports hero to a once in a life time holiday in the sun we can make dreams come true with your help. We receive no government or lottery funding and rely on our fund raisers to support our work. 25,000 children move into palliative care every year so please run for us and make more dreams come true.
Only 88 days to go!

My page:

Hi Everyone!

I'm Chris and I'll be swimming the English Channel solo in August 2017 for Dreams Come True.

It's easy to choose a big charity with a huge marketing budget, however I'd rather know exactly where the money is going and directly who will benefit from this challenge.

I feel very fortunate to be somebody who's had many opportunities in life to travel, open a business and study abroad and not a lot of people have this.

Dreams Come True is a small UK charity helping children with life limiting conditions achieve their dreams. This small charity has made a really big impact on me, enabling and empowering children with the power of a dream. Having a dream is so much more than a single wish, it provides us with positivity and the stength to keep moving forward no matter what the situation is.

So, a bit about the insanely mental challlenge I've given myself.

Swimming the English Channel solo

Did you know there's more people who've climbed Mt Everest than swam the channel solo? - Crazy right? Why am I doing this again? :)

Because of the nature of the beast, I want to raise a massive £25,000.

My window to swim accross the busiest shipping lane in the world is between 14th-20th August 2017 and I'm the 4th person to swim out of 4 so realistically I should be going off between 17th-20th. If the weather isnt on my side and i'm unable to swim my date will be moved back to the next available neap tide.

Oh and I'm not allowed to wear a wetsuit because apparently that's cheating, instead I'll be getting fat to help insulate me along the way!

I really appreciate the support from everyone, it means a lot to have you join me on this journey. If you'd like to make a donation, big or small, just click on the "Donate now" button below.
