A Ride for Life Savers

Tom Nash

My page:

This year I have decided to set myself a challenge; a coast-to-coast mountain bike journey. 200 miles, 18,000ft ascent, through 3 national parks in 3 days – The Crossing. I have wanted to do this for a couple of years but events just got in the way. I ride my bike a lot; for solace, scenery, fitness, laughs, friendship, work and escapism from the mayhem that is everyday life.

The more I thought about it, the more I thought that although I wanted to do this for myself, I wanted to do this for others. That’s when the idea of trying to raise some money for two charities close to my heart came – I am doing this anyway and have paid the entry fee so even if I only raise a few quid it is better than nothing. That’s not good enough for me though, so I am hoping that through my blog I can describe why I am doing this, how the training is going, tell a story of the actual event, the highs and lows and spread the awareness of what a vital, life-saving job these two organisations do. If it touches some of you enough to donate 10p a mile then that’s a tenner per charity and will allow them to continue to save lives.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
