A Somerset charity for disabled children and their families. Members have varying disabilities, including communication difficulties, behavioural problems and severe physical disabilities. It aims to extend opportunities and support to families through a wide range of regular activities and holiday trips.

Taunton Half Marathon - Escape Support Group
Thanks to everyone who sponsored me to run the Taunton Half Marathon on Sunday 11th April, dressed as a banana, to raise money for Escape Support Group, a Somerset-based charity that provides activities for special needs children and their families.
With fine weather and a cooling breeze, I ended up completing the course in slightly under 2 hours and also won the race - but only the race amongst the Escape bananas!
One of the unique characteristics of Escape Support Group is that it provides help to the whole family of a special needs child. Sometimes the needs of the parents and siblings of children with disabilities are forgotten - Escape Support Group helps to plug this gap.
So if you haven't done so yet, there is still time to sponsor me for this worthy cause and help me to reach my target of raising £1,000. I know that the many Somerset families who have benefited from Escape Support Group's activities will be grateful for any additional sponsorship.
