the London Marathon 2011 is done. I crossed the finish line after 3 hours 50 minutes and 19 seconds, i.e. as 9168 finisher, with exactly 25.570 coming after me.
I planned to be a few thousands faster, but the temperature and my personal state did not allow it. But I am not disappointed. In the contrary, I feel happy that I managed to keep control and did not overdo my run. Still I was the fastest Clemens in the race ;-)

What I did not yet cross is my donation goal line. This race is not yet over, but there is time until the 30th of June to do it.
Arriving a handful of minutes earlier at the finish line would have not changed anything, however your donation can change a lot for determined people who really deserve it. So please don't hesitate to donate.

Liebe SpenderIn,
der London-Marathon 2011 liegt hinter mir. Ich habe die Ziellinie nach 3 Stunden 59 Minuten und 19 Sekunden überquert, als 9168ter. Genau 25.570 kamen nach mir ins Ziel.
Eigentlich wollte ich ein paar Tausend früher im Ziel sein, aber die Temperatur und mein Zustand ließen es nicht zu. Dennoch bin ich nicht enttäuscht. Im Gegenteil: Ich bin froh darüber, dass ich mich zügeln konnte und nichts übertrieben habe. Und der schnellste Clemens war ich trotzdem ;-)
Auf www.lomafox.net gibt es einen ausführlichen Rennreport mit vielen Photos von mir.
Was ich noch nicht erreicht habe, ist die Spendensammelziellinie. Aber dafür ist noch Zeit bis zum 30ten Juni.
Wenn ich ein paar Minuten früher im Ziel gewesen wäre, hätte das nichts geändert, aber Deine/Ihre Spende kann eine Menge ändern für entschlossene Menschen, die es wirklich verdient haben. Also bitte nicht mit einer Spende zögern.

PS: Oxfam ist eine der größten englischen Entwicklungshilfeorganisationen. Mehr als ich erzählen könnte, aber dennoch nicht zuviel, findet sich auf http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxfam . Dort habe ich auch gelernt, dass Oxfam nach dem 2. Weltkrieg gegen den Willen der englischen Regierung auch in Deutschland geholfen hat.
