Shooting Star CHASE is the children's hospice service, supporting local families with a child or teenager not expected to reach their 19th birthday. Shooting Star CHASE currently helps over 500 families living in western London, Surrey and West Sussex. We are committed to caring for these families. We are here for every step of their journey, sharing the good times, and helping them through the tough times with practical, nursing and emotional support. Families receive our support free of charge, 365 days a year, in their own homes and communities and at our children’s hospices. Little Hearts Matter is a national charity offering support and information to anyone affected by the devastating diagnosis of a single ventricle heart condition, children born with half a working heart. It works to raise awareness of the needs of these children and their families.

Hi -
On July 10th I'll be competing in the Roth Challenge, an Ironman distance (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26 mile run) triathlon in southern Germany. I'm excited as well as a bit nervous about this. Training has been tough, especially since I started a new job in January, but I'll be there on the start line. Finish line hopefully too.

To keep me going during the race I have decided to try and raise some money for the Theo Walker Fund (please see www.theowalkerfund.com). This charitable fund was set up by my good friends Dan and Lucy Walker following the death of their son. Since Theo passed away in December 2009 from a serious congenital heart condition, his fund has raised over 90k pounds which has been distributed to charities which help children with life threatening and terminal illnesses.
All money raised from my event will go toward 2 charities which Dan and Lucy have got to know and believe offer much needed support in difficult times.
Details of each of these charities is included on the side of the page but in brief...
