Charity

Bishop Simeon Trust
The Bishop Simeon Trust, established in the UK in 1989, exists to support through education and development projects those most disadvantaged South Africans who still suffer from the inequalities and injustices of apartheid and its legacy, or who are most severely affected by the HIV/AIDS. The charity supports a large amount of HIV/AIDS community projects in South Africa where the pandemic has reached extraordinary proportions. As the number of infected people grows and the illness spreads, the number of people left in its wake also increases. Part of the work of eradicating HIV/AIDS therefore involves providing support, care and education for those affected in order to minimise their vulnerability to the illness.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page, and for taking time to sponsor me!

The Race Against Time is an endurance cycle ride from Lands End in the south west of England to John O'Groats in the north east of Scotland covering the 874 miles in just 5 days. The name of the ride is inspired by another race against time – the race to lower the rate at which new HIV infections occur in South Africa, and to help people already living with HIV–AIDS and their families. The Bishop Simeon Trust has been supporting disadvantaged families, in particular those devastated by HIV-AIDS, in South Africa since 1989. As the diesease spreads the Trust's work is vital, not only in providing food and support for those left behind, including thousands of orphaned children, but also in providing vital education for those who remain so that they can help themselves. Even a small donation from you can make a huge difference - as you can see below.
