Bath Half Marathon 2010

The Bath Half Marathon is one of the longest established and most popular city centre road races in the UK. It is also one of the largest charity fundraisers in the South West, raising over £1.3 million for charity last year alone. The course is fast and flat, with amazing crowd support, making it suitable for all abilities - for beginners whose key objective is to complete the course, to more experienced runners looking to beat their personal best time. This two lap traffic free course straddles both sides of the River Avon. The race starts and finishes in Great Pulteney Street, in the heart of the World Heritage City of Bath, surrounded by shopping, restaurants and other family attractions.

I FINISHED THE BATH HALF IN 2 HRS 1 MIN 25 SECS. I HAD BEEN STRUGGLING WITH A CALF INJURY FOR THE 3 WEEKS LEADING UP TO THE RACE AND DESPITE HOPING THAT IT WOULD HOLD UP FOR THE RACE, IT DIDN'T!! HOWEVER, I HOBBLED ROUND, HELPED ON BY THE FANTASTIC CROWD AND THE DESIRE TO FINISH IN A RESPECTABLE TIME. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR SPONSORSHIP AND MESSAGES OF SUPPORT.

I am running the Bath Half Marathon and raising money for Cancer Research UK.

I am running in memory of my Dad, Bernard, who lost his fight against stomach cancer last Easter Monday after a short illness.
