Kidneys for Life
A large number of the population have chronic kidney disease and this is only going to get worse as we put on weight and live longer. Whilst it is more likely to affect you when you get older, all ages are at risk and can develop kidney failure needing dialysis and possibly a kidney transplant. Kidneys for Life is a charity based in Manchester raising funds to enable research into kidney disease, transplantation and dialysis and also helps to improve amenities for renal patients at Manchester Royal Infirmary and its satellite dialysis units If you would like more information please contact Irene Chambers on 0161 276 6671 or email: fundraiser@kidneysforlife.org

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DesGardner

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Those of you who know me will be aware that I am not one of nature's born athletes.  Although my two kidney transplants have given me 18 years (and counting) of unbelieveable health they have not turned me into Paula Radcliffe.

I am running the London Marathon to show how transplants change lives and to say thank you to all my family, friends, work colleagues and the many amazing professionals at Manchester Royal Infirmary who have supported me over the  years.

Most of all though I am doing it to say thank you to the two families that I have never met who, through their courageous decsion to donate their loved one's organs have given me everything I have today.

Please give generously (or I will have to make up the difference!)
