Charity
The Esther Benjamins Trust rescues and rehabilitates Nepali children that society has forgotten. We provide residential refuge to trafficking survivors, former street children and the dependents of prisoners. We also support education and vocation initiatives for deaf and disabled young people in Nepal.

Tempo Time! Donate to our fund
The next goal for the Esther Benjamins Trust work at the Hetauda refuge is to purchase two small Tempo vehicles. From the photo below you can see that these are 3-wheeled vans which carry up to 10 passengers along with the driver and conductor and are used for public transport here in Nepal. They cost £5000 each.

Our aim over the next few months is to train some of our older teenage girls (18 years and above) who were rescued from Indian circuses, as drivers and conductors, equipping them with the skills for sustainable, long-term income generation. This kind of rehabilitation work is vital to allow these young women to be self-sufficient for life. Each Tempo provides four women with employment and the vehicles will be leased from the Trust providing it with a source of income.
In addition Tempos are electric vehicles with no emissions and low noise levels which are welcome attributes in the pollution and noise of Nepal's inner-city areas, and it means that they are environmentally sustainable too.
Funds raised by the West End Congregational Church in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, have been directed to provide seed money for the venture. The total project costs for training and the vehicles is £10,000.
