Anthony Nolan
Someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer such as leukaemia every 23 minutes. A blood stem cell (or bone marrow) transplant is often the only cure. Currently Anthony Nolan is only able to provide a matching donor for half the people that come to us in need of a lifesaving transplant. With your help we can grow our register of remarkable people willing to donate their stem cells, facilitate more transplants and save more lives. It costs £100 to recruit, tissue type and maintain just one potential donor to our register. Your donations will help fund our lifesaving work. Please visit www.anthonynolan.org for more information or email events@anthonynolan.org if you'd like to get more involved.

Hi all

You better believe it... I'm running the London Marathon again to raise money for Anthony Nolan.

For those who don't know, Anthony Nolan helps save the lives of people with blood cancer by matching them with amazing people willing to donate their blood stem cells. For someone with blood cancer, a stem cell transplant is their last hope - but our register of donors gives them that hope.

Sadly, as with all things, recruiting people to the register costs money - £100 per donor, to be exact. Raising the slightly terrifying total of £2012 will pay for 20 people to join the register, any one of whom could one day come up as a match, and save someone's life.

I'm not a natural runner by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm aware of how important our work is to people affected by blood cancer, and the difference we can make. But we need money to do that, and if spending the next six months running is what it takes to persuade you to part with your hard-earned cash, then that's what I'll do.

Any and all donations are much appreciated, and I'll also be aiming to beat last year's time, so please come along on the day to cheer me on/pelt me with custard pies if I fail.

Thank you
