Emma Bone - London Marathon - April 2011

I DID IT!

I RAN THE MARATHON ON SUNDAY 17TH APRIL - MAGIC DAY!

It was a magical day, very emotional, I was either laughing or greeting!  We had to slow down considerably as Nicola took a 'funny turn' because of the heat in the first half of the race but when approached by St Johns Ambulance she refused medical assistance and quoted 'I came to run!'  And run we both did and thoroughly enjoyed the second half of the race.  The crowds were amazing especially going over Tower Bridge.  I am very proud of my fundraising efforts - thank you all for your interest, donations and cheeky comments - its been one of the best times ever.

SPRING 2010

One glorious Saturday spring morning running across the fields in Fenwick, Nicola Booth and I thought it would be a grand idea to apply for the London Marathon!  Without stopping to think about what we were doing, we applied to the 2 charities that we both held dear to our hearts and lo and behold.......we have been accepted by our chosen charities and are running the London Marathon on Sunday 17th April 2011!

I have never tackled a marathon before and I'm in a state of nervous disbelief, very excited but most of all chuffed to bits to be running for the Miscarriage Association (see below).  The M.A are a fantastic organisation that helped support both me and Tony through pregnancy losses which we found very upsetting.  Nicola is running for FSID (Foundation for the Study of Infant Death).  She lost her little sister to cot death and is making her family proud by supporting this extremely worthwhile charity.  Nicola is on Just Giving if you would like to sponsor her.

Thank you for visiting my page, all your interest, support and encouragement makes me believe I can do it!
